  1. We need to know which publications, ad sizes, and how long to run each ad. Please click on Display Ad Rates to review our current ad rates.   2. After you have determined your choice of publications, ad sizes, and length of agreements, please fill out an Advertising Agreement Form (Adobe Acrobat Reader required) and fax it to us at (916) 727-6373. Alternatively you may email or call with your fax number and the form will be faxed to you: ad@egnews.com or (916) 727-6383.
  3. Ads should be emailed to ad@egnews.com as PDFs, made to our ad sizes, with all fonts converted to outlines. Please click on Submit Ad info for more details.If we are designing the Ad for you:

Please submit any logos, photos, artwork, and text by email to: ad@egnews.com or by mail to any of the addresses listed on our contact us page.Note: We highly recommend utilizing the services of a graphic designer or ad agency. However we are happy to assist you in designing your ad. There is a $30 charge for a single ad design if your ad rate is less than $100 per month and your advertising agreement is for less than six months.If we are designing your ad you will receive a faxed ad proof from us by the 17th of the month (the sooner we receive your ad info the sooner we can send a proof).
  5. All advertising is pre-paid by check or credit card. Please click on Payment for information about payment options, invoices, and timetables.

Our Display Ads, also referred to as Ad Spaces, are specific areas of space purchased and printed in our publications. You may choose to combine any amount of photos, logos, artwork and text in the advertising space you purchase.

Our display ad sizes are quoted as specific dimensions rather than column inches. For example we’ll quote 5″ wide x 3″ high, as opposed to column inches (used by some newspapers).

Display ads can contain text and graphics and are designed for certain sizes. Our publications are based on specific ad sizes (for example: 5w x 3h) instead of column inches. We can help design your ad and accept camera-ready art in compatible formats. For a list of these formats, see the Submit Ad Info page.

INSERT CHECK LIST (4 Requirements):

1.) Physical delivery of your flyer inserts by the 15th of the month to Gold Country Printing in Auburn, unless other arrangement are made. It’s very important to deliver at least the number of inserts required or they cannot be inserted into our publications per postal requirements.

2.) Payment for the inserts is due by the 15th. . (no invoice or bill is issued) We cannot place inserts without payment.

3.) Confirmation by email or fax that your inserts have been delivered (please be specific about the location and date the inserts were delivered)

For example, “We are ABC Inc, and we are confirming that 4 boxes were delivered to the Gold Country Printing for insertion into the Lincoln Hills Sun Senior News”

YOUR INSERTS MAY NOT BE INCLUDED IN OUR PUBLICATION WITHOUT A CONFIRMING EMAIL or fax. So please email us immediately AFTER your inserts have been delivered to Gold Country Printing.

We would also appreciate a faxed or email copy of the insert (E-mail: ad@egnews.com ; Fax: 916-727-6373)

4.) Each box must be marked clearly with both the name of the publication and month.

Checks should be made to the name of the publications and mailed to arrive by the 15th of the month. Please mail checks only to the Roseville UPS Store address below. Important Notes:

DELIVERY DATES:

Our publications are mailed monthly, generally around the first of each month.

However, due to the discretion that both our commercial printer and local post offices have over our deliveries, specific delivery dates cannot be known or guaranteed. Typically deliveries have ranged from the last few days of the current month through the 7th of the following month (example: April 27 – May 7).

Events promoted in our publications should be scheduled after the 7th of month.

Insert should be 8.5×11, 20lbs., Exceptions must be pre-approved. Heavier weights can be accepted. Generally the charge is $5 per thousand above our posted rates. Multi-page/booklets inserts are quoted by weight. Please email the weight of an individual booklet for a quote.

Insert clients may not share insert space with other vendors, or promote any service that solicits or provides advertising services/opportunities of any nature.

Please deliver at least the number of inserts requested. Perhaps a 100 extra inserts is encouraged, but not required. “Extra” inserts cannot be returned.

The requested number of inserts does not necessarialy reflect the exact number of issued mailed each month, and are generally higher to allow for postal route count changes prior to mailing.

The requested number of inserts is based on the number of homes included in the entire set of US Postal routes necessary to cove the target area. Routes vary often and may extend outside of the specific community targeted. However, postal regulations require us to mail to 100% of each route regardless if the route only partially covers our target area.

The number of Inserts requested are based on the most current US Postal information available by the 1st day of the month prior to mailings.

Classified Rates:

(Classified Ads are accepted only by mail, with a check, to arrive by the 15th of the month.)

Lincoln Hills Sun Senior News for one month: $35 for first 15 words. $1 per word over 15. $90 for 3 months.

 

Roseville Sun Senior News for one month: $25 for first 15 words. $1 per word over 15 words. $65 for 3 months.

 

Antelope News for one month: $20 for first 15 words. 50¢ per word over 15. $45 for 3 months.

Woodcreek News for one month: $20 for first 15 words. 50¢ per word over 15. $45 for 3 months.

How/When to Submit Classified Ads

Classified Ads are accepted only by mail, with a check, to arrive by the 15th of the month.

Please mail typed or large, clear print for the classified text; indicated which publication(s) the ad is intended for; indicate either 1 month or 3 months; include correct check amount OR best guess. Hint: a “word” is usually anything followed by a space (We’ll contact you if necessary).

Deadlines:

Display Ads=10th of each month:  Deadline for Display Ads (buying a specific Ad size) is the 10th of each month. (Sooner is better).

Ad changes or new Ads for current advertisers should be received by the 10th of the month as well.

FYI: It is our goal to have Ads proofed, approved and ready-to-publish by the 15th of each month.

Our publications are generally printed by the 20th of each month

Inserts=15th of each month: The deadline for insert drop-off and payment is the 15th of each month.

Classifed Ads= 15th of each month: Classified Ads must be mailed to arrive by the 15th of the month. We suggest that classified ads should be mailed no later than the 10th of each month.

Discounts:We gladly extend discounts from our full ad rates based two factors: the length of the advertising agreement, and ads placed in multiple publications.Discounts for agreements up to one year are published on our standard rate sheets. An additional 10% discount is granted for advertising in two publications. 15% for advertising in 3 or more publications.

Note: Discounts apply only to the Sun Senior News: Roseville, Woodcreek News and Antelope News.There are currently no discounts associated with the Lincoln Hills Sun Senior News

Discounts for Inserts:

There are currently no discounts available on flyer inserts, regardless of frequency or number of publications in which they are placed. Our insert service is 100% labor cost, preformed by crews at our commercial printer. Our insert rate goal is to provide an affordable alternative to doing your own direct mailings.Discount for Classified Ads:Discounts are granted for running the same classified ad up to 3 consecutive months. Discounts for the same ad run in multiple publicaltions for at least 12 consecutive months are individually negotiated. Email or call us regarding your situation: ad@egnews.com or (916) 727-6383.

All Ads are pre-paid monthly. We accept checks, Visa, and Mastercard. To pay by credit card download and complete the Credit Card Authorization Form, and fax to (916) 727-6373. If the form does not download, please email a request to ad@egnews.com.

If paying by credit card, your card will be billed automatically each month for your advertising until your advertising agreement expires.

All advertisers will receive a receipt (paid-invoice), and a tear-sheet (an original page cut from the publication on which the ad appeared) by the 10th of each month, along with a payment envelope to mail in the next month’s check.

Credit Card Payments: If paying by credit card, your card will be processed on approxiamtely the 21st day of each month for the next month’s advertising (for example, your card will be processed on Jan. 21st for the February Ads).  You will still receive a tear-sheet and a receipt (paid-invoice) by the 10th of each month.

Submitting Ad Info

E-mail: Whenever possible, all items related to advertising should be submitted by e-mail to: ad@egnews.com

Ideally, ads should be e-mailed as PDFs, made to our specific ads sizes, with all fonts converted to outlines or embedded in the file.

If e-mail is not possilble: Ad content, including text for the ad and original artwork (photos/clipart), can be mailed to any of the addresses on our Contact Us page. CDs may be submitted. Please, no floppy diskettes.

Please put the contents in an envelope marked with the name of the paper you intend to advertise in and our box number at that specific location.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR BETTER AD REPRODUCTION:

Ad Design Guidelines:
We offer free, basic, one-version Ad design.

Ideally though, Ads should be designed by commercial graphic designers with lower-resolution (100 lpi), black & white reproduction values which include:

-Ads should be submitted as correctly-size PDFs, with all fonts converted to outlines/curves.

– Photos and artwork should be at least 150+dpi and lightened/brightened at least 15% to compensate for dot-gain/darkening during the printing process.

-Photos are recommended to be well-lighted, high-contrast and sharp. Note: that great color-photos do not always translate into great black and white photo. Ideally, color photos will be converted and contrast-adjusted before inclusion in Ad layouts.

– Text photos/screened areas: text place over photos/screened areas is generally not recommended unless the text is larger (at least 14pts) and offers a high-contrast to its background. The larger and more contrast, the better.

Ad Content:
In general terms, our experience has shown that its best to have an eye-catching graphic included in your Ad that also communicates what product or service is being offered and that wording should be as concise as possible.
